Niwot opens the holiday season on the evening after Thanksgiving: the community tree is lit, Santa arrives by horse-drawn sleigh, there are carols and live music, and the shops through Old Town and Cottonwood Square stay open. The Business Association’s dated listing gives 6 to 9 pm; the same page’s general description mentions a 5 pm start, so check it before you go.
